Of the things you write about your reader can only guess with distant dim imaginings. My elders who served in Europe, North Africa and The Far East in times of other conflict never spoke of what they knew to their siblings or grandchildren. Perhaps at least your writing around it may be cathartic for you (I hope so). My best wishes
Ahh yes my friend, cryptic messages within the piece, this was for a competition, to write something about the art piece, and it came as I wrote it, yet at times it can be very cathartic to exorcise the demons even is no one else can understand, of what I speak.
